Attention required.

A score above 20 and up to 70 is not urgent, but it is not where you want to stay. Look at how the product is used and whether a reasonable measure brings the score down.

What it asks of you

• Check that the probability you picked matches the protection people actually use.
• Look for a simple improvement, such as adding the missing technical control or personal protection.
• Plan the improvement and reassess once it is in place.

How to bring it down

Divide 20 by effect × exposure. A probability at or below that result brings the score to Low.

Example

A product with H315 and H319 has an effect of 6. It is used Frequently (3) with Personal protection only (3):

6 × 3 × 3 = 54, Medium.

Adding a technical control so that the probability becomes Technical controls only (1) gives 6 × 3 × 1 = 18, Low.
