Share safety information with your team through a public portal
Set up a branded portal where employees can browse workplace locations, view chemical products, and download safety data sheets without logging in.
Employees can browse safety data sheets and chemical information on a public portal without logging in. The portal displays your workplace locations, assigned products with GHS hazard pictograms, and downloadable SDS documents.

Configure the portal
Open the Settings tab to set up your portal.
- Enter a Portal Name. This appears as the heading on the public page.
- Choose a Theme colour for the portal branding.
- Add a Contact Email and Contact Phone so employees know who to reach for safety questions.
- Select which workplaces are visible under Visible Locations. Only ticked locations appear on the portal.
- Select Save Settings.
Control access
Toggle Public Access to make the portal available or restrict it. When public access is off, no one can view the portal.
Enable the following optional features on the portal:
| Option | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Show Attachments | Visitors can download additional files linked to products, beyond the main SDS document |
| Show Reporting | A Report tab appears so employees can submit safety concerns directly from the portal |
| Show Amounts | Inventory amounts and units appear on each product card |
| New Applications | An Applications tab appears so workers can request new products to be added to the inventory |
To limit access by network, enter allowed IP addresses in the IP Whitelist field (one per line). Only visitors from those addresses can view the portal. Your current IP address is shown next to the field for reference.
Share the portal link and QR code
Open the Share your portal tab to find your portal URL and QR code.

- Copy the Portal URL and share it with employees. Post it on your intranet, in break rooms, or in safety documentation.
- Download the QR code as PNG or SVG. Print it on safety signage so employees can scan it with their phone to access the portal instantly.
- Select View portal to preview what employees will see.
Save the portal to the home screen
Workers can install the portal as an app on their phone. The icon shows your company logo and opens directly to your safety portal, with no QR scan needed each time.
The Share your portal tab shows step-by-step installation instructions for iOS and Android. Workers who visit the portal on a mobile device also see a dismissable banner with the same guidance.
iOS (iPhone, iPad)
- Open the portal link in Safari.
- Tap the share button (square with arrow).
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
Android
- Open the portal link in Chrome.
- Tap the menu (⋮) in the top right.
- Tap Add to Home screen.
Browse locations on the portal
The public portal opens on the Locations tab. It lists every visible workplace grouped by category.

Select a location to open the location detail view. It lists all products stored there. Select any product to see its full safety information, including GHS hazard data, H and P statements, PPE requirements, and first aid measures.
Find products and download safety data sheets
The Products tab lists all chemical products across your visible locations. Each card shows the product name and supplier. Hazardous products also show a signal word badge (Danger or Warning) and GHS pictograms.

Select a card to expand it. The expanded view shows download buttons and a Details link.

- SDS: download the safety data sheet as a PDF
- Report: submit a safety concern linked to this product
- Details: open the full product detail view with GHS data, H and P statements, and PPE requirements
Search for a specific product by name, supplier, SKU, EAN, or ID using the search field at the top.
Report safety issues from the portal
When Show Reporting is enabled in settings, a Report tab appears on the public portal. Employees can use it to report safety concerns, missing SDS documents, or incorrect chemical information. Reports are linked to specific locations so your team can act on them quickly.
Request a new product via the portal
When New Applications is enabled in settings, an Applications tab appears on the public portal. Workers fill in the product name, supplier, location, and reason, then upload an SDS file. Submissions appear in your Inbox for review.
Anyone with the portal URL can view the listed chemical information. Use the IP whitelist or disable public access if your chemical inventory is confidential.
