Workplaces, quantities, and overrides
Record which workplaces store a product, how much you keep there, and correct the values NextSDS derived from the SDS.
Three tabs answer the question an inspector asks first: what do you hold, where, and how much.
Assign the product to workplaces
The Workplaces tab controls which locations store this product, and records basic details for each: a simple quantity, storage location, department, employee roles, and general usage notes.
- Search for a workplace.
- Select an existing workplace, or select Create "name" to add one.
- Fill in storage location, department, and employee roles for that workplace.
For detailed stock tracking across packages and units, use the Quantities tab below instead. The quantity recorded here is a simple reference value.
Removing a workplace also deletes its inventory details and any RECESS or EMKG assessments recorded there. This action cannot be undone.
Track stored quantities
The Quantities tab records how much of the product you store. Each row is one storage entry: workplace (or Product-level if it is not tied to one location), amount, unit, number of packages, and packaging type.
NextSDS multiplies amount by package count for the row's total. Once you fill in the last row, a new blank row appears automatically. Select Create new type in the packaging field to add a custom type.
The Density link shows the value NextSDS uses for VLAREM calculations. Select it to open the Overrides tab and correct it.
Correct SDS-derived values
The Overrides tab lets you manually correct two values NextSDS derives from the SDS: density, and VLAREM storage-permit category.
For density, enter a value and choose a unit (kg/L, g/cm³, g/mL, or kg/m³). Select Save override to apply it, or Reset to auto to return to the SDS-derived value.
When the SDS does not give NextSDS enough detail to classify the product automatically, select Edit to choose the correct storage-permit categories by hand.
A Manual badge marks an active override. An Auto badge means NextSDS still derives the value from the SDS.
