NextSDS Docs

A product with an unreadable sheet is no longer scored low risk, every failed document gets a way out, and the product record is rebuilt around its hazards.

Corrections that affect earlier results

A sheet that cannot be read is no longer scored low risk

A product whose document produced no usable classification was graded on an empty hazard list, which the calculation floored at the lowest effect band. It came out green, and it did so on every artefact: the risk cell on screen, the row in the printed RECESS assessment, and the fill colour in the Excel export. The export also printed the product name as "N/A".

Those products now read as unknown, with no risk category, and the export can tell a product with no hazards from a product with no sheet. The stored score is refused as well, so a product can no longer answer a low-risk query while its own cell says unknown.

RECESS and EMKG both refuse to start an assessment with no sheet to grade. The RECESS exposure and probability selectors are disabled, EMKG cannot be started at all, and a row that cannot be assessed reads as inert rather than as work someone forgot.

Re-check any RECESS assessment or inventory export you produced for a product whose sheet failed to process.

New Features

Every failed document now has a way out

Files that produced no usable safety data used to sit in the library with no explanation. Each product now has a Processing issues section that names the verdict, lists the specific findings behind it, and offers a way to resolve each one. File the document as a safety card or an attachment, report it if you think the verdict is wrong, or remove it from the product.

A product's hazards stay with you on every screen

The product record keeps its pictograms, supplier and sheet date in the header wherever you navigate, so you do not lose the classification while filling in quantities or workplaces. Its sections carry a count, which tells you at a glance that a product has no workplace or no safety card. Safety cards have their own section, where you can upload a finished PDF as well as build one, and rename it afterwards.

Find the products that need attention in one list

Failed, rejected and not-an-SDS used to be three separate views you had to remember to check. There is now one list, filtered by Active or Archived, and a Documents control that picks out the products with a problem, no sheet, or a sheet still being read. Each row shows its own state, so a broken document is visible while you scan the list rather than only when you open it.

Selecting products and archiving them replaces the old bulk delete, which means archiving is now how you retire a product without losing it.

A product can exist before its sheet does

Record a product that is already on site while you wait for its safety data sheet. Upload the sheet later and NextSDS attaches it to the product you already created rather than making a second one. Suppliers can also mail sheets straight to your team's address from the Email tab.

Every active product now reaches the safety portal

The portal used to show only products whose sheet had passed every check, which hid products workers actually handle. Every active product is now listed. A product with nothing usable behind it says No safety data rather than showing an empty hazard block, and its sheet is withheld rather than handed over. You can hide individual attachments and safety cards from the portal.

Workers can add a product by scanning it

A Scan tab on the portal resolves a barcode to a product. When the barcode finds nothing, the worker can photograph the container and send it through as a new product, which you then approve from the team inbox.

Pick the site, then the workplace

The workplace picker shows your workplaces grouped under their site, so two workplaces with the same name on different sites are no longer identical rows. Tick as many as you need across sites, and workplaces already on the product are left out.

Resolve duplicate products in one pass

Select several duplicate clusters and merge them together in one go. Each cluster expands into a detail row that reads like the product's own linked-sheet list, with the newest clusters first.

Build a mixture from your own library

CLP classification can now take its components from your SDS library, with a review step before they are added. Warnings are written in plain language, and a mixture that cannot be classified says so rather than producing a result you should not trust.

Improvements

Product lists

  • One state marker everywhere: the library, the workplace lists, the VLAREM product list and the risk assessment overview all mark a product's document state the same way, in the same place.
  • A CLP export row per workplace: the export gives one row for each workplace and product pair, with the workplace named.

Screening

  • Signal word first: the Safety and Storage step opens with the signal word, then the hazard levels, so the verdict is the first thing you read.

Safety cards

  • Your own fields on the card: a card prints the custom fields recorded on the product, and the icon is chosen per block.

Team settings

  • Users you can search and sort: the team users table shows when each person last signed in.
